Why are my guy friends such homophobes?

One of my best friends is homosexual and got on with all my other friends until he actually ';came out of the closet'; and told everyone about his sexuality. Now some of my guy friends hate him. How can they hate a guy they used to be friends with just because he is gay?Why are my guy friends such homophobes?
Some people don't understand this kinda stuff.


I know my family mostly doesn't. I'm straight, possibly bi, but even when my mom and I were watching the ';Beautiful'; music video by Christina Aguilera, and there are the two guys making out, all I can think of is, wow, that is so unbelievably romantic and my mom just makes a disgusted face and walks away!


It's not easy living around these kinds of people. And like I said, I'm straight, but it pisses me off, too.


When my friends make negative comments like that, especially when they are directed at someone, I stand up for what I believe in. And if they keep making jokes, I guess they're not real friends.

First of all it's not right to hate. I would feel betrayed by someone who was not open and honest with me about who they are if they led me to believe they were someone other than who they are. I had a friend once who turned out to be gay but she led me to believe she was heterosexual. We went out together and everything then one day she just sprung it on me like it was nothing. She lied to everyone, even her fiance who is a guy. I didn't hate her but we grew apart.
They're small minded idiots who can't think beyond the end of their noses, or else they actually think the gay rubs off and they're afraid they'll be thought of as gay if they hang around him; or even worse your friend will magically turn them gay somehow..
homophobes are usually closet-homosexuals who hate themselves so much that they hate all gay people, thinking it will make them less gay. it's pathetic and sad.
They have issues, they have know reason to hate on him unless he like made a move on them which it doesnt seem he did.

and saying all homophobes are closeted gays is like saying all people in the KKK are black.
